2020 Football

Welcome to NLYAA Football!

Our program is coordinated by a committee of dedicated parents, coaches and team parents. Our goal is to provide a fun yet educational atmosphere for all players by promoting good sportsmanship, teamwork, safety, responsibility and self-discipline.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • The following positions are open for the 2020 season:
    • Announcer
    • Scoreboard Operator
    • Halloween Parade Coordinator
    • Snack Stand Coordinator
    • Assistant Director
    • Team Mom
  • If interested please contact the football director. 
  • Help is always needed at all events.  Please consider getting involved.   


Registration Information  

  • All registrations must be completed online. There will be no in-person registrations
  • Registrations will be opened from July 6 until August 3
  • Late registrations, if accepted, will be charged a $10.00 late fee
  • The following items need to be submitted at equipment handout:
    • Current wallet size head shot of the player- must be current for all players
    • Copy of your child's birth certificate (do not need if child participated in previous season {2019})


Sign Up Fees

  • NLYAA Fee is $10.00 per player (Lifetime memberships are no longer for sale but will continue to be honored)
  • All fees must be paid via the online registration website.
  • Visa and MasterCard Gift Cards can be used via the online registration system.


Steak Fry Fundraiser

  • This will not take place for the 2020 Football Season


Designer Purse Bingo Fundraiser

  • Designer Purse Bingo is held the first Sunday in March.
  • The Bingo is held at Diamond Fire Company in Walnutport.
  • Tickets for the bingo are $25.00 and include 20 regular games and 5 special games.
  • We are always in need of basket donation and baked goods.


Refunds

  • The NLYAA fee for the current season can be refunded if requested by the end of the first week of practice. 
  • Any requests made after the first full week of scheduled practice will not be honored.
  • Fundraising sales cannot be refunded.


Parental Duties

  • All parental duties will be signed up via Sign Up Genius.  A link will be sent via email prior to the start of the games.
  • Your child cannot play football if you are not signed up for your duties.
  • If you fail to show up for your parental duties, your child will be benched for that game and every game until your requirements are met.  If you fail to meet your duties on the last week of the season, your duties will carry over to the next season.       
  • Parent/guardian must be present at all practices and games.


Rookie Team - Instructional

·       The child must turn 4 years old before October 31 current football season *no exceptions*

·       The child cannot turn 6 before September 1 of the current football season.

·       No weight limit.

·       No contact.

·       No score is kept.

Flag Team - Competitive

·        The child should turn 6 before September 1 of the current football season.

·        The child cannot turn 8 before September 1 of the current football season.

·        No weight limit.

·        Score is kept.

Junior Varsity (JV) Team - 100 pound team - Competitive

·        The child should turn 8 before September 1 of the current football season.

·        The child cannot turn 10 before September 1 of the current football season.

·        The player must be 100.9 pounds or less to run the ball.

·        The player cannot exceed 130.9 pounds.

Varsity Team - 120 pound team - Competitive

·        The child should turn 10 before September 1 of the current football season.

·        Any 12 year old that is in 7 grade cannot turn 13 in the calendar year and must be 100.9 pound max to play.

·        The player must be 120.9 pounds or less to run the ball.

·        The player cannot exceed 150.9 pounds.

Equipment

Equipment Handouts will be held the week of August 10. More information to follow!

  • All players must come to equipment handouts. 
  • Players must try on their equipment to ensure proper fit.  This is required for safety and no exceptions will be made.
  • Players are required to purchase cleats.  They must be molded plastic cleats.  No metal or screws in cleats are permitted. 
  • Equipment will be handed out in the equipment shed behind the middle school.


Equipment Returns

  • Equipment is due 1 week after the conclusion of the season.
  • Players and parents are financially responsible for any equipment that is not returned or is damaged at the end of the season.
  • If equipment is not returned by due date, parent will be required to pay an equipment deposit before receiving equipment for the next season.
  • If equipment is not returned at all, your child will be placed on the inactive list for all NLYAA sports until equipment is returned.


Season Schedule

Practice Schedule
  • Practice will begin Monday, August 10
  • 120's and 100's program practices:
    • Scheduled practice will start at 6:00.  Coaches can reduce or extend the time as needed.
    • Practices are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
    • Once school starts, we will no longer practice on Monday evenings.
  • Competitive Flag program practices
    • Scheduled practice will start at 6:00. Coaches can reduce or extend the time as needed.
    • Practices are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
    • Once school starts, practice will be reduced to 2 days per week Tuesday's and Thursday's.
  • Rookie Flags practices
    • Scheduled practice will start at 6:00. Coaches can reduce or extend the time as needed.
    • Practices are on Tuesday and Thursday.
    • Once school starts, practice will be reduced to 1 day per week on Thursday's.

·       We require that one parent or guardian remains onsite during practices and games.

·       A parent or guardian is required to sign in and out their child at the start and end of every practice and game.  If you need someone else to take your child home, we need written permission to do so.

Please note that this game can schedule can change.  Confirmation of location and times is sent out the week prior to all families from your team mom.
